At first glance, “Here goes another appropriation” is what would be in some minds right? Well I must admit, out of curiosity I loved their dance move first and then tracked back with the natural normal thoughts–“appropriation?”. Don’t get me wrong, I believe everyone should enjoy FEELY art and music of the world but RESPECTFULLY. I dug a bit into their world, and after reading into why they created their Swedish girl dance crew, I begun to love them more as I respect their mission to fight racism (“Dancers against racism”) through dancing. Yes I personally can respect that as the world certainly needs that right now, especially with all the BS happening. The only thing I would have loved to see, was a blend of of race to show unity, but that’s my perspective from where I sit. At my age, i’ve come to learn that another angle sometimes is also a very powerful statement in sending messages across. Maybe if it was a blend, may be it wouldn’t be as rare to gain any attention. Enjoy the other videos below. One love.
